Sunday was beautiful this past weekend and the sun was shining, providing warm temps and a soft breeze. I heard the garden calling my name about 2:00 – well, actually, it was Mr. Fix-It beckoning me to the leaf removal/weed pulling – and so, I trundled to the rows of beds with hoe, rake and shovel in hand. I tackled the first bed (asparagus, blueberries and raspberries). Did you know that gardening is the best way to tell that you are totally out of shape and have been eating bon-bons in front of the tv all winter? OK, so I don’t eat bon-bons, but I dream about eating them and that is just as bad. Now I have sore thighs, achey joints and a twinge in my back and I only have three more beds to go! I should be in traction by the middle of March and I will be sure to let you know where to send the cards and flowers!! But in the meantime, I think we’ll have a new giveaway which will go through St. Patrick’s Day with a name being drawn that evening. This time, a winner will receive a set of awesome bread pans that are very unusual. One is a stainless steel number specifically for baking two loaves of French or Italian bread and the other is a perforated, non-stick pan for baking bagettes. Every bread-maker should have one!! So enter as many times as you like by commenting on this post and all following posts through the 17th. Also, I’d like to ask you to take a trip over to the shopping page to see some of the new things that have been added. I’ll give you a taste here, but you’ll have to run over there to see the rest. First, our Kierston has graduated with a degree in art from the University of Oklahoma and has put up a few of her paintings to be purchased. She is presently doing album covers for a variety of musicians and has been nominated for “Best Album Cover” at one of the country music awards celebrations. You can see her work by clicking on the “original artwork” tab. Next, a spectacular monogramming and seamstress company called Stitching Designs has created the most gorgeous tea cozies you ever saw. Heavy-weight, they keep tea hot in the tea pot for a really long time. The vibrant colors just make a tea service stand out. What a lovely addition to tea time!! There are two sizes available. Hop over to see the whole collection! And finally, another addition to the tea gifts section is an exquisite, porcelain tea cup complete with porcelain tea infuser that fits inside the cup and a matching porcelain lid for steeping and keeping tea hot for a single serving. Embossed with a floral motif, each cup is edged in gold and nestled in the satin bed of a beautiful, decorative box. Each cup comes with a free tin of one of our signature teas and is the perfect and unusual gift for your special person. These items will make great Mother’s Day gifts or birthday or graduation gifts. So take a look at the shopping page and don’t forget to comment below to enter the giveaway!! And join the blog at the right to follow and keep up with all of the giveaways coming up! |

What a wonderful site~ really like the bread pan idea, never have seen them before would really be a great pan to share warm bread with friends and family (and very little clean up).
I remember making french bread in pans similar to this one with my Aunt – she was quite the cook having taught herself with Julia Child’s The French Chef!
My sister is getting married soon and she would love to add these to her new kitchen!!
Oooh ….love these unique products! I came over from Consumer Queen — nice to meet you! I’m off to spread the word 🙂
These pans are incredible. Love great tips!
The bread pans look like something my mother used, only not as sophisticated. She cut the ends out of tomato juice cans, greased them liberally, and baked her bread in them. We had round sandwich bread! Voila!
Love your site and love the canned turkey. I’ve canned chicken, but didn’t think about turkey!
Thanks.
Hello! I am an Oklahoma blogger as well! It’s so nice to find you! I’ll have to get one of those pastry cloths one of these days!
Janet, thanks! And if you use an Oklahoma Pastry Cloth™ on which to knead and shape your bread, you will have NO cleanup!! Thanks for entering.
Susan, I ran out and bought the book when I saw the movie, Julie and Julia!! Wonderful book. Thanks for entering.

I liked you on facebook. I like these bread pans. They are so cool.
Your welcome, Susan. I have bread pans that are in shapes (tubes in shapes) that give heart shaped loaves, or flower shaped loaves that make awesome tea sandwiches. Your mom was smart.
Thanks Cheryl!! I’ll be welcoming you on FB. And you are entered.
My Mom had a pan like this, and I wish I would have taken it when we cleaned out the house. Now is my chance to have one. Thanks
Good luck, Carmen. Thanks for entering.
Hi, Cristina! Glad to meet you. I will look up your site. Thanks for entering and sorry that I didn’t get you ‘approved’ sooner. Somehow your post slipped by me! But you are entered!! Welcome from another Okie. 🙂

Hubby surprised me by working our (2 acre) garden yesterday as he was changing fields with the tractor. The purple flowers were trying to take over! I’m wondering if we should plan on planting the garden earlier this year, or if winter will make an appearance in March? What do you think?
And, I’d love to be entered in the giveaway!
Thanks Mel!
Kenda, I’m getting ready to put a recipe up that works well in these pans and there is also a recipe for Sourdough bread here on the website. So never fear…help is here!! 🙂 Thanks for reading and you are entered.
Mary, you’ve got me!!! We are doing the same thing and I know that just as soon as I plant, we will get a good hard frost and all will be lost. Never fails. Our fruit trees are blooming. That’s not good!!! And you are entered.
I am so excited to enter this giveaway! I would love to have the pan for making French Bread. I have a new Gluten Free recipe that I would love to try using this! 🙂 Thanks for the chance!
I think this is just wonderful and I am so happy I saw this on Consumer Queen E-mail I received. It is GREAT you are doing this. I am on a fixed income and would LOVE to win these pans so I can bake my own at home and enjoy. I wish more merchants would do what you are doing! 🙂 I hope you consider entering me in the Giveaway!! I like to grow my own herbs (in the garage and my kitchen right now) I am looking forward to planting outside so let’s hope our weather co-operates. I am looking forward also to recipes you will be posting. I always like to try something new. Again, Thank You and have a Great weekend coming up!!
I do not see where I left my comment…..:( – I hope you got it and consider entering me in the giveaway…Thanks for doing this. You are so kind to do this especially during these hard times and for people like me that are on a very fixed income.
Was referred by a friend and would love to win! You have a fabulous blog by the way!
Thanks for entering, Jamie!!
Thanks, Mickey and you are definitely entered. Thanks for taking a look at the blog and I hope that you will keep coming back!!
Don’t worry, Mickey. You are entered. All new posters have to go through an “approval” to keep spammers off the site so posts don’t show up immediately. Now that you have posted, your comments will show up as soon as you submit them.
Kristina, thank you very much. I hope that you do find the blog useful!! It is my baby for sure!! 🙂 And thanks for entering the drawing.
I have a french bread pan and love it. It does help with giving it the right crustiness. Would love to get a set with a baguette pan!
Yes, it does Cindy! And you are entered, so good luck!
91 comments, are you kidding me?????? I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many.
Wow!
STCJ, we’re just a hoppin’ place! 🙂
Oh I love sourdough bread! I’m going to try making my own starter soon and then comes the bread! I’m thinking it’s about time for some friendship bread too….I love it, though it’s been years since I’ve made it. 🙂
Susan, if you look under the breads category to the right of the post, and click on that and scroll down, you will find my sourdough starter and bread recipe.
I am so impressed by the products you offer and love, love the childs baking set! Can’t wait to get my gift budget in order and shop for items. Would like to add how much I admire the pastry cloth idea because although I don’t bake as often as when my children were living here and also now widowed, I always had to come up with ways to ease the clean up process. I made a lot of roll out cookies for scholl parties in my time and did use wax paper (put on a dampened cabinet surface it did a fair job but had to frequently reapply new paper because it was not durable or reusable of course) I think all my gorls would appreciate this product for sure. My oldest daughte is gluten intolerant and that makes it good to make her own breads as the ones to buy are outrageously expensive.
sorry for the misspellings, its been a long day. LOL
Just love the bread pans. I have been eyeing them for a long time at another site. I would love to be entered in the give away. Many thanks
TinaH
Karen, I’m in your same position. All my hungry mouths have flown the coop and I am left trying to be inventive for two people!! Thanks for your kind words and you are entered.
